Children's stories and learning that build confidence, kindness and imagination
Award-winning Scottish children's author Fiona Lowry creates imaginative books, resources and story-led learning experiences for children, families and primary schools.
Through the S.E.C.R.E.T. Framework®, my work brings together self-belief, encouragement, creativity, resilience, empathy and trust, helping children grow in confidence while giving the adults guiding them meaningful ways to continue those ideas at home and in the classroom.

What's New

Early Chapter Book for Ages 5-8 Years
Some stories have been waiting a very long time to be rediscovered...
Faith believes in fairies.
Harris is not so sure.
When the siblings discover a tiny red door hidden in the bark of an old oak tree, everything begins to change. A magical world full of wonder draws the children in. The more time Faith and Harris spend there and get to know a very special fairy, they begin to wonder whether the Fairy Woods has been a part of their story all along.

You are enough and everything all at once.
The idea behind everything I create:
Six simple foundations. One powerful way of helping children grow.
The S.E.C.R.E.T. Framework® brings together six foundations that sit at the heart of my books, resources and work with children: Self-Belief, Encouragement, Creativity, Resilience, Empathy and Trust.
Rather than teaching these ideas in isolation, I use stories, imagination, discussion and practical activities to help children recognise them in themselves and use them in everyday life.

Bringing the stories into schools
My work with schools goes beyond the traditional author visit. Through the S.E.C.R.E.T. School Programme, story-led workshops and literacy experiences, I help schools create meaningful opportunities for children to build confidence, communicate their ideas and engage with reading, creativity and wellbeing.
Programmes and workshops are designed to complement Curriculum for Excellence learning and can be adapted around the needs and priorities of individual schools.
