Mental Health Awareness Week 2022


When you feel the darkness descending

And your brain is running wild

Life becomes a hazy mist

And your troubles seem highly piled;

Breathe deeply, relax and close your eyes

Its not as bad as it first seems

Turn on the spot and change your view

Sometimes you just need a different scene.

For those of us who have had hard times

When it seems, there is no way out

Take solitude in knowing that

With strength you can change your doubts.

Breathe deeply, relax and close your eyes

There is a friend deep inside who will guide

Listen hard and trust your inner voice

Hold your head up high and don’t hide.

Mental Health is an incredibly important topic that is still a little bit of a taboo in the UK, leaving people often feeling more alone and lost than they ideally should do. Awareness of mental health issues are crucial to so many; and the more we talk about worries, concerns or issues, then more appreciative of their own mental health people will be, and supportive of others they will become.

It is nothing to be ashamed of and takes a strong character to stand up and ask for help - but be brave - it is always better to talk.
